New in: Michael Kors

May 22, 2013

There's a new bag in town! And what a bag it is! Those of you who follow me on Instagram (andreamst) probably know that I've spent a wonderful day in Vienna this past weekend. Pretty much the sole purpose of this trip, aside from enjoying a perfect, sunny day with a good friend, in one of my favorite cities, was to check out this baby below. As you've seen in Wednesday's post, the Michael Kors Jet Set Travel tote has been one of the front runners in my quest for a new bag, and once I stood in front of it, it was simply love at first sight. <3

I'm sure I'll get a lot of use out of this bag, as you can see it holds books and documents just as well as my essentials for a beach vacation. All in all I'd say money well spent! What do you think? ;)

How to style a bedside table...

May 20, 2013

...when you are cramped for space.

I admit I still haven't overcome my addiction for Pinterest. And if you, like me, are interested in home decor, chances are you've stumbled upon tons of pictures of gorgeously styled bedside tables. I always love getting inspiration for my own home, however when it comes to bedside tables I'm facing the problem that mine can't sit twelve people! Or in other words... it's really, really tiny.

So since some of you might face a similar challenge, I thought I'd share my essentials for a tiny, yet cute and practical bedside table.

THE NECESSITIES:
- Cute lamp
- Alarm clock... or three
When cramped for space I'd suggest combining these two! I've had my Philips Ambilight alarm for two years now and while it looks kinda spacey, I wouldn't want to live without it. In addition to an alarm clock and a reading light it's also equipped with a radio! So three-in-one ain't so bad.

- Books
Nothing better than a relaxed Sunday morning in bed with a book and a cup of coffee!

- Tray / Flowers
I've found it handy to have a little tray on my bedside table, to hold all the small things which are inevitably accumulating next to a bed, like glasses, bracelets, nail polishes... Due to the rim of the tray these things don't roll off the table all the time. (Glasses on the floor... major pet-peeve of mine...)
I also really love waking up next to fresh flowers. Just put one or two blossoms into a cute vase (or water glass for that matter) and they'll make a huge Impact.

Did I Forget something? What are your essentials for a bedside table?

The puple wooden ball was a gift from a friend of mine. It smells like lavender and helps a lot if you have trouble sleeping.

Bag love - Part II

May 15, 2013

I’m in dire need of a new bag. And I don’t mean it like ‘I need a new bag just because I don’t know what else to do with my money… as if…’ but more like ‘My one and only bag, which is suitable for the office and meetings isn’t going to make it any longer, because the chain straps are going to break any second now'. I’m actually not too concerned about this as I bought the bag for only € 25,00 last summer, but non the less I need a replacement.

So I figured I’d would invest a bit more money and go for what I’d call a real grown up bag this time. It has to be large enough to fit all my belongings incl. the occasional file folder or documents without crinkling them to death. It should have a classic look so that it can solely take my mostly simple outfits up a notch and also I’d like it to double function as a carry on bag for when I go on vacation. Obviously great quality is also a major factor, as my current bag isn’t even a year old and basically on its last leg.

You wouldn’t believe how tricky it can be to find a bag that fit’s all these criteria but I think the ones below are pretty great.
one | two | three | four | five | six | seven | eight |

Which one do you like best? My favorites are the two Michael Kors bags and the Rochas one.

A girls best friend

May 14, 2013

...is certainly a great pair of jeans!
Do you remember how anxious I was when I bought these 7 for all Mankind ones? It certainly doesn't happen every day that I treat myself to a pair of jeans worth like 4 pairs of my usual pants. However I have to admit, they were a great choice! I have been wearing them at least twice a week and they are just amazing. The material which, lets face it, when it comes to jeans can often be a bit stiff and uncomfortable feels really as soft as if you were wearing lounge pants. Also I've noticed that they are quite versatile. Since the material is rather thin you can easily roll the ends up an voilá you have yourself some cropped jeans without a bulk of material around your ankles. So all in all I can only recommend investing in a great pair of jeans, even though they might be a bit pricier than what you are entirely comfortable with because at least in my case these pants are pretty solid cost-per-wear-wise! :)

Wishing you a great day guys!!
